W. Barrett Nichols – Founder & Chief Executive Officer

BSG Financial’s founder, Barrett Nichols, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, attended Indiana University’s Executive Program Graduate School of Business after graduating from Hampden-Sydney College. He has spent most of his professional life in the financial services arena, including 20 years in corporate lending and retail banking at PNC, rising to Executive Vice President. During his career at PNC, Barrett successfully merged its Indiana acquisitions into one bank, PNC Indiana, where he served as President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Upon leaving PNC, Barrett helped found Mesa Food Products, located in Louisville, Kentucky. He served as President and CEO until the sale of Mesa to ConAgra Foods. Barrett then founded BSG Financial, where he is Chief Executive Officer. He serves or has served as a board member and officer for several civic and charitable groups, including The Community Foundation of Louisville; J. Graham Brown Foundation; Metro United Way; American Printing House for the Blind; Dare to Care Food Bank; Kentucky Derby Museum; the Fund for the Arts and the Greater Louisville Project.

Mike Alvey – President and Chief Operating Officer

Mike provides strong leadership for customer installation, training and relationship management. Previously, Mike managed engagements in the Entrepreneurial Services Group of one of the nation’s leading public accounting firms, Ernst & Young. Immediately before joining BSG Financial, Mike managed financial and information technology systems as a Controller for ConAgra Foods. Mike is a graduate of the University of Louisville and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a regular volunteer in his church youth and LifeBridge community outreach programs.

Hank Thompson – Executive Vice President, Business Development

Hank has over 25 years of selling and sales management experience in several industries, including training, continuous quality measurement and advertising. His expertise includes senior level sales, creating long-tern relationships with clients and establishing sales partnerships. Hank graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky and is past president of the national UK Alumni Association. He remains active in alumni affairs at the university and enjoys golf “anytime, any place.”

Mike Wummer – Executive Vice President

Mike Wummer has over 25 years of banking experience, including branch management, commercial lending, real estate and mortgage lending, product development, and strategic management. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of National Penn Bank in Boyertown, PA where he championed the introduction of multiple new products and services for the bank and its subsidiaries. Among these was the introduction of BSG Financial's OverdraftHonor® program and the beta program for OverdraftHonor® for Business Accounts.

Mike is a graduate of Kutztown University and has completed programs with National Commercial Lending School, Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Pennsylvania Bankers Compliance Academy.

Dennis Harrod – Senior Vice President of Technology and Processing

Dennis Harrod brings more than 10 years of experience in technical support management to the executive team at BSG Financial. In his role, Dennis is responsible for supporting, testing and implementing OverdraftHonor™ and CourtesyConnect® software, the company's courtesy overdraft programs, as well as managing BSG Financial's overall customer support and information technology. Prior to joining the company, Harrod served as technical support specialist for Louisville-based Ikon Office Solutions, the world's largest independent distributor of office equipment and document management services. He has also served as service manager for Shelbyville, Ky.-based Graybeal Air Systems and field service technician for Louisville-based Sunrise Technology Systems. Dennis is a graduate of Central Kentucky Technical College. He is both a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) and a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).

Jeffrey Harper – Executive Vice President

Jeffrey A. Harper is a more than 17-year veteran of sales, product marketing and strategic planning. Prior to joining BSG Financial, he was a CPA for Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), as well as a vice president and commercial loan officer for both Crestar Bank (now SunTrust Bank) and PNC Bank, Louisville. In addition, he served as executive vice president of business development for Strategic Resource Management, a consulting firm specializing in procurement services and benchmarking of expenses for financial institutions.

Jeff is responsible for marketing the company's profit-enhancing programs, while also identifying and qualifying industry partners to establish strategic alliances in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Illinois and Wisconsin, Maryland, and Washington, D.C..

Jeff attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., where he earned a BA degree in accounting.

Deena Barr – Executive Vice President

Deena's mark at BSG Financial is felt in two ways: as a business development officer and as a relationship manager. Deena began at BSG Financial in 2005 by helping clients implement the Re$ubmitIt electronic check recovery program, making certain the process was painless and quick. In her past careers, Deena has successfully implemented technology solutions in a variety of industries, requiring expertise in alliance management, project management, strategic systems evaluation, design and implementation. All of these skills have been invaluable to BSG Financial in her role as project manager. They also serve her well as she expands BSG Financial's presence in the states of Missouri, Kentucky and Michigan.

Deena began her career in information systems in 1976 for Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where she worked primarily with Medicaid and in the private industry insurance segment. Other companies for which Deena has honed her technical and management capabilities are Bell Laboratories, Brown Forman Enterprises, Proctor & Gamble, NaBanco, First Data, NationsBanc and Inacom Corporation. Her varied job responsibilities have included system and application support, new product development, and interface system design, as well as re-engineering complex, out-dated systems into current methodologies to accommodate new business environments and emerging technologies.
